Accessibility Statement

Draft for review — this policy has not yet been approved by Brighter Bolder Beginnings' leadership or legal counsel.

Last updated: Not yet approved — date will be set on approval

Everyone deserves to reach support and information without barriers. We are committed to making this website as accessible and easy to use as we can.

1. Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site has not yet been formally tested against this standard, so we do not claim full conformance.

2. What we have built in

The website has been designed with these features:

  • Keyboard navigation — all menus, links and buttons can be reached and used with a keyboard, with visible focus indicators.
  • Screen-reader support — meaningful headings, landmarks and labelled controls.
  • Readable text contrast between text and backgrounds.
  • Labels on form controls, such as search and filter fields.
  • Responsive layouts that adapt to phones, tablets and desktops, and support browser zoom.
  • Reduced motion — animations, including the homepage ribbon, are turned off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Alternative text for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • A safety shortcut: pressing Escape twice quickly leaves the site.

3. Known limitations

Some text that appears inside our logo image may be small on narrow screens; the organisation's name is also available to screen readers as text. We will continue to review the site and improve where we fall short.

4. Reporting a barrier

If anything on this site is difficult to use, please tell us through the Contact page, describing the page and the problem. A dedicated accessibility contact address will be published once verified. We welcome your feedback and will do our best to help.
