Last updated: Not yet approved — date will be set on approval

These terms explain how this website is meant to be used. We have tried to write them clearly and kindly. By using the site, you agree to them.

1. Purpose of this website

Brighter Bolder Beginnings shares survivor-centred information, advocacy and links to support services for people affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse.

2. Information and advocacy, not advice

Everything on this site is general information and advocacy. It is not legal, medical, psychological or other professional advice, and it may not fit your situation. Please speak with a qualified professional about your circumstances.

3. Not an emergency service

We cannot monitor this website or respond to emergencies. If you are in immediate danger in the United States, call 911. For confidential support, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline on 800-799-7233 or the National Sexual Assault Hotline on 800-656-4673.

4. No attorney-client or clinical relationship

Using this website, or contacting us, does not create an attorney-client, counsellor-client, or any other professional or clinical relationship.

5. Using the website responsibly

Please use this website lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, intimidate or impersonate anyone, including survivors or our team;
  • use the site to try to locate, monitor or contact someone against their wishes;
  • submit false, abusive or unlawful content;
  • attempt to disrupt, damage or gain unauthorised access to the site.

6. External resources and links

We link to independent organisations we believe may help. We do not operate or control them and cannot guarantee their availability, accuracy or services.

7. Intellectual property

The Brighter Bolder Beginnings name, logo, text, design and original images belong to the organisation or are used with permission. Please do not reuse them without permission, except to share links to our pages.

8. Survivor stories

Story sharing is not yet open. When it opens, you will keep ownership of your story. You will decide whether and how it is published, how you are identified, and you may withdraw consent. Nothing will be published without your documented agreement, and we may decline or edit a submission (with your approval) to protect safety and privacy.

9. Disclaimers

We work to keep information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete, current or error-free, or that the site will always be available. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the website's content.

10. Applicable law

The law governing these terms will be confirmed by the organisation following legal review.
