Sexual Violence Support
What happened was not your fault. You decide what happens next, and you do not have to share details to get care.
Medical care
- Seeking medical care as soon as possible can help protect your health, including emergency treatment to reduce the risk of HIV and pregnancy — this is time-sensitive (ideally within 72 hours).
- You can receive medical care whether or not you choose to report.
Reporting and evidence
- If you may want to report, try to keep clothing and avoid washing before a medical examination, if you feel able to.
- Reporting is your choice. You can take time to decide.
Confidential support
- Call the National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN) on 800-656-4673, or text HOPE to 64673, to talk to someone confidentially and find services near you.
